WELCOME TO MY PRACTICE
As a licensed psychologist, I offer a personalized, tailored approach to the treatment of autism spectrum disorders. I received my bachelor of science degree in psychology and business administration at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. After working as a research assistant in Pediatric Neuropsychology at the University of Minnesota, I began a child clinical psychology doctorate program at the University of Memphis in 1993. My graduate program experiences included inpatient psychiatric work, multidisciplinary team assessment of developmental disorders, and research at St. Jude Children's Reseach Hospital. During this time, I completed a longitudinal research study on emotional expression in autism. I have always enjoyed conducting research, and authored a number of research articles on autism and childhood cancer early in my career.
I completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Children's Hospitals and Clinics in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I gained valuable experience with medically fragile children and developmental disabilities. Following internship, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Fraser Child and Family Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This position provided experience in preschool mental health, parenting evaluations, school consultation, and student supervision.
My experience with developmental disabilities continued in my role as a staff psychologist at the Alexander Center at Park Nicollet Clinics in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. I enjoyed the opportunity to work on multidisciplinary teams with a talented group of professionals, including developmental and behavioral pediatricians, speech-language pathologists, and social workers.
I began a private practice in the Minneapolis area in 2007. I moved to Austin, Texas with my family in 2013 and started a private practice here in February 2014.
